staying connected

We know how special those first few weeks are, and we don’t want you to miss a moment! Families on our waitlist receive weekly updates once their litter is born, with photos and videos capturing all the precious milestones—wobbly steps, playful zoomies and everything in between.

These little moments create the magic of puppyhood and are often missed, so we take pride in capturing them for you.

We are also only ever a phone call away—our support doesn’t stop when you take your puppy home. We are here for a lifetime of guidance, advice, and encouragement whenever you need us.

If all the families from a litter are interested, we create a private Facebook group. This special space lets you stay connected with your puppy’s littermates, sharing in the joy, love, and adventure of raising these incredible dogs. It’s a beautiful way to celebrate milestones together, exchange updates, and be part of a lifelong supportive circle.

The WaitList

Why Choose a Torrya Corgi

The WaitList

Because we breed for quality, not quantity, we don’t always have puppies available. Our Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppies are bred selectively, with health, temperament, and structural soundness as top priorities. We take expressions of interest and maintain an active waitlist, keeping families updated and involved every step of the way.

A Torrya Corgi is worth the wait.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at torryacorgis@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Bringing a Corgi into your family is just the beginning — their needs don’t stop once they leave our home. It’s important to plan for the everyday and long-term costs of giving your puppy the best life possible.

You can expect to budget for:

  • Premium food  to suppport healthy growth and daily energy.
  • Routine vet care like vaccinations, worming, flea/tick prevention, and annual check-ups
  • Unexpected vet visits for accidents or health issues
  • Grooming and coat care supplies (brushes, nail clippers, shampoo)
  • Training and socialisation such as puppy preschool, obedience classes, or ongoing lessons
  • Pet insurance for peace of mind with emergencies
  • Enrichment and exercise including safe toys, chews, and activities to keep their clever minds busy
  • Boarding or pet sitting when you go on holidays

Cardigan Welsh Corgis are generally lower-maintenance than many breeds, but they still need to be part of your weekly household budget. Planning ahead helps ensure they enjoy the love, care, and quality of life they deserve — and gives you peace of mind knowing you’re ready for the journey.

We generally don’t take deposits at the very beginning — we want families to feel completely sure about their decision without pressure. Deposits are only taken later in the process, once you’ve been matched with your puppy and we’re finalising paperwork to secure them for you. This ensures that puppies are thoughtfully matched to the right homes, and families feel confident and excited every step of the way.

Distance is never a barrier to welcoming a Torrya Corgi into your family. Many of our Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppies have safely travelled interstate, including to Tasmania and Western Australia. We work with trusted animal transport companies to ensure the journey is smooth and stress-free. For families who can’t visit in person, we’re happy to arrange video calls so you can watch your puppy grow and feel just as connected as if you were here.

All of our corgi are DNA tested through Orivet. This includes screening for the “big three” — Degenerative Myelopathy (DM), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), and Progressive Retinal Atrophy (PRA) — as well as other conditions like coat traits (including the Fluff gene) and Black Follicular Dysplasia. By only breeding from health-tested parents, we aim to reduce hereditary risks and give every Torrya Corgi puppy the strongest foundation for long-term health.

Our puppies are raised in the heart of our home, exposed to everyday household sounds, different TV channels, the vacuum cleaner, and a variety of enrichment activities. They experience toys with different textures, sounds, and movements to build confidence, plus tunnels, water play, balancing equipment, and hanging toys to develop body awareness. Puppies spend time outside on safe ground, take short car trips, meet our cats, and explore our horse property where they can safely see horses, chickens, and goats. We carefully manage health precautions during this stage, but the result is confident, well-rounded puppies prepared for family life.

Our puppies are raised on a balanced diet of both raw and Royal Canin Puppy to ensure they have a broad palate and can adapt to your preferred feeding style at home. They enjoy a variety of fresh, nutritious foods such as strawberries, blueberries, Greek yoghurt, farm-fresh eggs, chicken breast, carrots, celery, and sweet potato, along with probiotics for gut health. This varied diet helps build strong, healthy puppies who transition easily into their new homes. Each puppy also goes home with a detailed diet list and a supply of their food to make the transition smooth and stress-free.

That’s absolutely fine! We know that timing isn’t always perfect, and circumstances can change. Filling out the form helps us get to know you and keep you updated. If you’d like to wait for a future litter, we’ll keep your details on file and reconnect when the timing suits you better. We do like to keep our waitlist current, so we appreciate families letting us know if their plans change.

Cardigans are loyal, clever, and entertaining, but they are also active dogs who need both mental and physical stimulation. Ask yourself if you have time for daily exercise, training, and plenty of interaction. Are you ready for puppy-proofing, regular vet visits, and the occasional muddy paw on the lounge? If you’re prepared to commit to consistency, patience, and love, then you may be ready to welcome one of these incredible dogs into your life.

Getting ready for your puppy is such an exciting step!   It’s important to set your home up much like you would for a curious toddler — remove anything small enough to chew or swallow, keep important items up high, and ensure dangerous areas are blocked off. A securely fenced yard or designated toilet area is essential, along with a safe “den space” such as a crate or play pen where your puppy can rest and feel secure.

Most importantly, be prepared to give your puppy plenty of time and patience. Between training, toilet breaks, socialisation, and cuddles, those early weeks can be full-on — but they create the foundation for a confident, well-adjusted puppy and a lifelong bond with your Cardigan Welsh Corgi.

We go into “lockdown” during the early weeks to protect the puppies’ health, so visits aren’t possible straight away. Instead, families receive weekly video updates showing special milestones like eyes opening, first steps, starting solids, outdoor play, and even first baths. Once puppies have had their first vaccinations at six weeks, we welcome families to come and meet them in person. This way, you get the joy of watching your puppy grow while knowing their health and safety are always prioritised.
